The map projection for layer doesn't match the current map projection

Error Message

After using the Get Data For ArcPad wizard to export layers that are projected on-the-fly and opening the exported .apm file in ArcPad the following error message is displayed:

"The map projection for layer '<layer name>' doesn't match the current map projection."

Cause

ArcPad does not support projection on-the-fly. The exported .apm file contains the projection of the data frame in ArcMap, while the exported layers contain the projections of their source data.

Solution or Workaround

• Use the Project geoprocessing tool in ArcToolbox > Data Mangement Tools > Projections and Transformations to re-project each layer that is projected on-the-fly to match the data frame's projection. Then reload the re-projected layers into ArcMap.
• In ArcMap, change the data frame's projection to match the projection of the layers that are projected on-the-fly.
