FAQ: How Do I Add Markers with the No. Marker or Text Box?

Answer

Use the Number Marker, or 'No. Marker', or the Text Box box in the Markers window if you want to add numbers or text to a point on the map. Type a number and/or series of letters into the No. Marker or Text Box box and
place it on the map as done for other markers, such as by place name, address, latitude/longitude, or mouse-click. It appears as a rectangle marker with white characters and a black background.

There is no limit to the number of characters that can be used but the more numbers or letters, the harder it is to determine the mark being referred. This is because the number and text box is centered on the point. Labels are placed to the right of the marker.
