FAQ: Why is the Step to Run dcomcnfg.exe Included in the Instructions Titled 'Installing A

Answer

This instruction, within "Configuring your computer", is only required if using ArcMap Server and ArcReader on the same machine.

If ArcReader has not been installed, ArcMap Server should install and function correctly without this step.
