ArcMap cannot read grids across IBM Fast Connect

Description

ArcMap cannot read grids in a workspace with a name longer than eight characters across IBM Fast Connect to a UNIX server.

Cause

IBM Fast Connect has long file names to DOS file name mapping that could be interfering.

Solution or Workaround

Contact your System Administrator or IBM regarding the procedure to turn off the long file name mapping.
