How To: Use the GENERATE command in DAK

Procedure

The syntax for the GENERATE command for DAK is as follows:

Code:
GENERATE [cover] {sml_file}


Generate adds features to a coverage by entering feature coordinates at the keyboard or from a file.

[cover] The coverage to which features will be added. If no coverage exists new coverage will be created.

{sml_file} The name of the file containing the appropriate generate subcommands and responses. This file can be used as an alternative to command input.

The GENERATE command shows the prompt:

After the prompt appears the following subcommands may be used to generate tics, lines, grids, points and annotations:

ANNOTATIONS [level] [symbol]
CIRCLES {LABELS / NOLABELS}
COPYTICS [cover]
GRID {LABELS / NOLABELS}
INPUT {TTY / file}
LINES
POINTS
QUIT
SYSTEM {Operating_system_command}

Note:
NO Topology has yet been defined for features in the coverage. Use BUILD or CLEAN to create topology for the coverage.
