Error Message

Starting ArcInfo returns the following error message:

"Invalid number of arguments function JOINFILE\\
line 42 of file c:\Program Files\arcgis\arcexe83\startup\arc.aml"

Cause

Line number 42 in $ARCHOME/startup/arc.aml is unable to process the uppercase letters and/or any spaces in the $ARCHOME (or %ARCHOME% on PC platforms) system variable.

Line 42: &s archome [joinfile [pathname $ARCHOME] startup -sub
