Set the path for the LIBRARIES file LOCATION item

This article shows how to set the LOCATION item.

Procedure



  1. Open a command prompt window and navigate to the ArcInfo workstation install directory.

    C:>cd %ARCHOME%/tables 


  2. Start INFO and select the library. This example uses STATELIB for the library name.

    C:\arcgis\arcexe82: info
    ENTER USER NAME>ARC
    ENTER COMMAND >SEL LIBRARIES
    ENTER COMMAND >RESEL NAME CN 'STATELIB'

  3. Use LIST to check the current LOCATION directory.

    ENTER COMMAND >LIST 
    NAME =STATELIB
    LOCATION =D:\OURLIBS\STATELIB\DATABASE

  4. Change the LOCATION to a valid directory and use LIST to check the update.

    ENTER COMMAND >UPDATE LOCATION PROMPT 
    RECNO?>1
    1
    LOCATION =D:\OURLIBS\STATELIB\DATABASE
    LOCATION>D:\LIBS\STATELIB\DATABASE
    RECNO?>
    ENTER COMMAND > LIST
    NAME =STATELIB
    LOCATION =D:\LIBS\STATELIB\DATABASE

  5. Quit Arc

    ENTER COMMAND >QUIT 
    ENTER COMMAND >STOP
