ERROR

AREAQUERY fails with (S_GetLRUBlock) Memory for data type 1 is too low

Error Message

The AREAQUERY command fails with the following error message:

"FATAL ERROR (S_GetLRUBlock)
Memory for data type 1 is too low
Bailing out of AREAQUERY"

Cause

The cause for this error is unknown.

Solution or Workaround

Potential solutions:

  1. Lengthen the output subclass name being created by AREAQUERY.
  2. Increase the amount of memory allocated with the OVERLAYALLOCSIZE environment variable. More information on this variable can be found by searching on 'OVERLAYALLOCSIZE' in the Index tab of the ArcDoc online help system.
  3. As an alternative to using AREAQUERY, use UNION to combine the coverages containing region subclass and use REGIONQUERY.
  4. Uninstall and reinstall ArcGIS.
