Last Published: April 25, 2020

In ArcExplorer Java Edition, clicking the Geography Network button normally opens the Web browser and connects to the Geography Network. From this page, the user is able to add data from the Geography Network into an ArcExplorer project.

Instructions provided describe modifying the Geography Network button to connect directly to the Metadata Explorer.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the aimsclient.properties file located in the user profile.

    Windows 2000/XP/2003 - <Drive>:\Documents and Settings\<username>

    UNIX - $HOME

  2. Open the file in a text editor, and edit the value for GNHome to point to the URL of the Metadata Explorer.

    Code:
    GNHome=http://<localhost>.<domain>.com/metadataexplorer
