Frequently asked question

What is an AutoCAD block?

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Answer

An AutoCAD block is a way of saving repetitive symbols in AutoCAD. For example, in AutoCAD, draw a circle in a box to represent a column in an architectural drawing. That circle in a box can then be saved using the BLOCK command. This saves time by using the block instead of redrawing the column each time it is needed in the drawing.
