Move: An unexpected failure occurred

Error Message

When using the Move operation in ArcMap and then selecting the Undo button the following error message may occur:

"Move: An unexpected failure occurred.
Underlying DBMS error(ORA-29875: failed in the execution of the ODCINDEXINSERT routine
ORA-13237: internal error during R-tree concurrent updates: [empty-node encountered: rebuild index]
ORA-06512: at 'MDSYS.SDO_INDEX_METHOD", line 7
ORA-06512: at line 1]
[ORASPATIAL.Cities2]"

Cause

The R-tree spatial indexes are predominately Beta versions in Oracle 8.1.6.

Solution or Workaround

This is a known issue for this version, and has no workaround. It has been fixed in Oracle 8.1.7 and 9.0.1.2.0.

It is suggested to upgrade your version of Oracle, if possible.
