MSW call DeleteObject failed-Windows XP

Error Message

When the user identifies features using the Identify tool in ArcView, the following error occurs on Windows XP:

"MSW call DeleteObject failed"

Cause

ArcView needs to run in Windows 95 compatibility mode. Compatibility mode is a feature of Windows XP and doesn't affect ArcView performance.

Solution or Workaround

The ArcView 3.x Windows XP Patch for ArcView 3.2, 3.2a, and 3.3 fixes this problem, and is available by clicking on ESRI Patches and Service Packs, below. Continue by clicking on ArcView 3.x > ArvView 3.x Windows XP Patch; follow download instructions.
