Why are my OLE DB table field names truncated in the ArcCatalog preview panel?

Some of the fields in my OLE DB table appear to have their field names truncated.

Cause

It is a known issue that field names in an OLE DB table are truncated to 31 characters in length in ArcGIS.

Solution or Workaround



Rename the field at the data source so the name does not exceed 31 characters.
