ArcView on SGI does not make SQL connection to Oracle databases

Description

Tables from an Oracle database can not be added to ArcView running on SGI machines.

Cause

A problem referencing the yellow pages.

Solution or Workaround

1. Add yourself to the /etc/passwd file.
2. Navigate to $AVHOME/lib and make links like this:
   
   

   Code:
   libsocket.so /usr/lib/libc.so 
   libnsl.so /usr/llib/libc.so 

   
   When the SQL connection is made, it will be redirected and use these libraries instead.
