HOW TO

Create a users default project using Avenue

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Summary

A users default project stores customizations to ArcView, such as scripts, GUIs, and extensions. The file resides in the user's $HOME directory. If $HOME is not specified, ArcView will use the system $TEMP directory. Since each user can have a different $HOME directory, it is possible to have a unique users project for each user.

Procedure

  1. Open a new script window.
    A. Activate the Project window.
    B. Click the Scripts icon.
    C. Click New.
  2. Paste the following code into a new script window.
    Code:
    Av.GetProject.MakeUserDefault
  3. Select Compile from the Scirpt menu or click the [O-Image] Script compile button button.

  4. Click the [O-Image] Run compiled script button button to run the script.
    Note:
A file named default.apr will be created in the $HOME.
