FAQ: Why Does SE_shape_union Return Results That Are Inconsistent with SE_shape_is

Answer

The SE_shape_union function miscompares rings that are touching when two polygons are compared. Therefore, SE_shape_union can sometimes return results that are inconsistent with SE_shape_is_overlapping.
