BUG

Cannot edit complex edge features whose start or stop vertex is snapped along itself

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

A complex edge feature, whose start or stop vertex is snapped back along itself, cannot be edited in ArcMap.

Cause

Line features, whose start or stop vertex is snapped back along itself, will be
created as a feature with invalid geometry when loaded into the network as
a complex edge. The feature is not recognized as an invalid feature by the network loader, so it has no corresponding record in the <Network Name>_BUILDERR table.

Workaround

For ArcGIS 8.3 and earlier:
To repair the feature’s geometry, follow the steps for repairing features with identical start-stop vertex. See 'Repairing network topology' in the ArcGIS Desktop Help under Geodatabases > Editing your geodatabase.

For ArcGIS 9.0 and later:
To repair the feature’s geometry, follow the steps for repairing features with identical start-stop vertex. See 'Repairing network connectivity' in the ArcGIS Desktop Help under Editing in ArcMap > Editing geometric networks.
