Frequently asked question

Why don't raster catalogs rotate when the Data Frame is rotated?

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Answer

When you rotate the data frame, vector and raster layers rotate, but raster catalogs display without any rotation. This is because raster catalogs do not support data frame rotation in ArcGIS 8.2.

You can only view the component rasters of the raster catalog with rotation when the data frame is rotated, if you load each of the component rasters individually as separate raster layers. Rasters in a raster catalog are meant to be already pre-processed and have the correct rotation.
