Unable to register with the geodatabase
Error Message
When using the 'Register with Geodatabase' command in ArcCatalog on a Microsoft Access database, the following error is returned:
“Unable to register with the geodatabase.
General function failure.
System resources exceeded.”
Cause
When registering large tables, this error may occur if the MaxLocksPerFile registry setting for your system is being exceeded.
Solution or Workaround
Increase your MAXLOCKS registry setting by using the AdvancedArcMapSettings.exe application located under:
arcgis\arcexe81\utilities
Click the Editor tab and increase the Jet engine max # of records to calculate setting.
