PROBLEM
The feature dataset name for my annotation layers disappears after I repair the data source for coverage layer in the same map
Description
In ArcMap, fixing a broken data link for a coverage layer can cause geodatabase annotation layers in the same map to lose information about their source. For a given map document, if you repair any coverage layer before repairing all annotation layers, then the annotation layers will lose their feature dataset name (Layer Properties dialog box > Source tab).
Cause
Repairing the data source of any coverage layers before first repairing all geodatabase annotation layers causes this problem.
Solution or Workaround
When repairing a map document with broken data links, you must:a) repair all annotation layers before repairing any coverage layer.
and
b) repair each annotation layer individually using the following method. Do not use any other layer repair method to repair annotation layers.
- Open the Layer Properties dialog box for the annotation layer.
- Click the Source tab.
- Click Set Data source and browse to the data source.
