Failed to paste error when trying to copy and paste OLE DB connection objects

Error Message

"Failed to paste" error is returned when attempting to copy and paste an OLE DB connection object into a file system directory.

Cause

This is a known issue.

Solution or Workaround

1. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the 'c:\winnt\profiles\<user name>\Application Data\ESRI\ArcCatalog' directory (where <user name> represents the login name of the user whose connection file you wish to copy).
2. Use the operating system functionality to copy and paste the OLE DB connection (.odc) file.
