Are there any known issues with PNGs and browsers?

Answer

There are some limitations in both Netscape and Internet Explorer:

▪ Netscape 4.5 and older browsers do not support the PNG format.

▪ Netscape 4.6 and 4.7 do not support transparency using the PNG format.

▪ Internet Explorer supports transparency only for 8-bit PNG images.
