Access an ArcSdl browser from a remote machine

This document explains how to access an ArcSdl browser from a remote machine.

Procedure



  1. Type 'xhost +' at the UNIX prompt:
    Code:
    unix:% xhost +

  2. Use the UNIX command 'rlogin' to log onto the machine that has ArcSDL installed:
    Code:
    unix:% rlogin <installed_node>

  3. Set the environment variable DISPLAY to your local machine:
    Code:
    unix:% setenv DISPLAY <your_local_node>:0

  4. Type ARCSDL from the UNIX prompt:
    Code:
    unix:% arcsdl
