Steps to configure a Houston Instruments HIPAD+ 9236 digitizer.

Procedure

The Houston Instruments HIPAD+ 9236 digitizer is considered part of the HIPAD 9200 series digitizers. This digitizer can be configured with software drivers and a paper menu template. At this point the only procedure known on configuring the digitizer is with the paper menu template.

1. Check the following paper menu template configuration areas:

HOUSTON ASCII: 8 DATA BITS/NO PARITY
TABLES RESOLUTION: 1000 LINES PER INCH
BAUD RATE/STOP BITS: 9600/1
PRIMARY MODES: POINT MODE
INCRIMENT LIMIT: 5 COUNTS
OUTPUT RATE: 200 COORDINATES PER SECOND

2. Use a text editor to create the following digform file needs to be created:

3. Name this file HIPAD-2 and
saved it in the C:\ARCEXE\DIGFORM\ sub-directory.

4. Run CON-DIG at the Arc prompt like this:

5. Run DIGTEST, DIGTESTW, or KERMIT to make sure the digitizer is working correctly. The RAW data from the digitizer should reveal something like this:
