Procedure

Since this digitizer is not supported, the best way to configure it is using the CALCOMP 9100 format:

1. Configure the dip-switches on the digitizer banks A and B as follows:

where 0 = OFF, 1 = ON and X = Does Not Matter

According to the NUMONICS BIDMAT XNT documentation, this will emulate a CALCOMP 9100 format #1 digitizer. The dip-switches on this digitizer are actually a menu bar with lights embedded in the digitizer. You need to select a particular bank with the digitizer puck and move the cross-hairs over each light to see if it is ON or OFF.

2. Save the above bank setting as the digitizer default.

3. Using a text editor, load the C:\ARCEXE\DIGFORM\CAL9100 digitizer format file. Edit it so it looks like this:

4. Save it as C:\ARCEXE\DIGFORM\BIDMAT.

5. Run CON-DIG at the Arc prompt like this:

6. Run the PC ARC/INFO utility DIG-TEST to ensure the digitizer is communicating correctly.

On newer PCs, the serial port may not initialize upon starting PC ARC/INFO, in such case you need to edit C:\ARCEXE\CMD\ARC.BAT. Enable lines 20 & 21 by removing the REM text:
