HOW TO

Create a COGO coverage from an existing coverage

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Procedure

Summary:

Converting an Arcinfo coverage to a COGO coverage.

Procedure:

Issuing the ARCCOGO command at the Arc: prompt will perform this task. All arcs containing vertices will be split at each vertex.

Note that a "curve_item" must be added to the AAT so ARCCOGO can know which arcs are "curves". A curve_item value of '1' indicates that an arc is a circular curve, while a value of '0' indicates that an arc is a non-curve (such as a two-point line, spiral, ellipse, poly line, or anything else that is not a circular curve). The user must identify which arcs are curves and use ARCEDIT CALCULATE to assign the value of '1' to the curve_item.

Notes:

See the entry for ARCCOGO in the ARC command references for more information.
