Solution or Workaround

Summary

The ARC COPY command returns this message:

Unable to create INFO directory /<workspace_pathname>/INFO
Could not copy states to /<workspace_pathname>/<coverage>

Cause

The directory /<workspace_pathname> does not exist. The ARC COPY command can only copy geo datasets into an existing directory.

Solution

Use the ARC CREATEWORKSPACE command to create the workspace /<workspace_pathname> and then execute the ARC COPY command.
