When attempting to start Arcedit, one of the following error messages is returned:
Bailing out of ARCEDIT
Program failed to start or was killed
Try RESTOREARCEDIT to recover your edit session
Increase swap or paging space allocation. There is insufficient swap or paging space for the system to activate ARCEDIT.
Swap and paging space are resources independent of Arcinfo and, if depleted, cause a SEGMENT VIOLATION. For example, each session of ARCEDIT on the SUN workstations uses 55 megabytes of swap. If a user has 100 MB of swap allotted, then two windows running ARCEDIT will exceed their limits. See Installation manuals for suggested swap and paging space guidelines for the various platforms.
