How can the font in an AML menu be changed or set?

Answer:

On Sun, AML menus use the same font as the command windows. It is not
possible to have different fonts for the command window and AML menus. To
change the font, specify or modify the font definition in the ".Xdefaults"
file. For example:

Font.Name: courier-12

To be able to use the new font definition you need to restart the Window
Manager or reload the ".Xdefaults" file as follows:

xrdb .Xdefaults

Notes:

The ".Xdefaults" file resides in your home directory.

The "Arcinfo.FontList" parameter can be specified in the ".Xdefaults" file to
affect text displayed with the "&popup" directive only; menus are not
affected.

A listing of available fonts on your system is available by using the
'xlsfonts'
command at the UNIX prompt. You can specify an entire font name, or use a font
alias.

A fixed width font should be specified. Fixed width fonts belong either to the
Courier or Lucidatypewriter font families. These families are monospaced,
with
every character having the same width. The following is a listing of
suggested
fixed width (or non-proportional) fonts to use.
