Description
When ArcGIS 10 is installed, certain TIFF images mis-align with feature data or display in a wrong geographic location.
This issue is fixed in ArcGIS 10 Service Pack 1 and subsequent service packs. Please download and install the latest service pack.
Cause
The X resolution and Y resolution tags are not properly applied in defining the extents of the TIFF images in ArcGIS 10 if these TIFF images have missing or invalid georeferencing information in the TIFF tags.
Workaround
Download and install the latest service pack for ArcGIS 10.

The article contains a typographical or grammatical error.
Projection of georeferenced tiffs should be backw_ards compatible. The suggested work around is not appropriate for most users having large georeferenced image libraries. The issue needs to be correct for the latest version.
