Description

The background of a polygon theme appears transparent on the screen, but becomes solid when printed. This usually occurs when using hatch patterns from the default fill palette.

The printer and its driver do not support PostScript.

Solution or Workaround

  1. Load the vector fills contained in the ArcView palette file located at \esri\av_gis30\arcview\symbols\carto.avp. -show me-

It doesn't seem to work when i want to export the file in jpg. polygons are still filled. I've read it was the hatch.avp file that we had to load. It works but there is no vertical or horizontal lines... only diagonals or crossed lines... Is there a solution?

Provide additional information regarding raster fills. Otherwise, very helpful.

In conjunction with the HP support staff we added different ps drivers for our hp laserjet 4600 dtn and still could not print the image. Any other workarounds??

Using an HP printer this didn't work. When I loaded the carto.avp file it didn't start with the horizontal line pattern. Tried multiple times. Don't know if my carto fill is working properly.
