  1. [ESRI software] A setting in a database management system (DBMS) that defines how much an application process is isolated from other concurrently executing processes in a DBMS. It specifies the degree to which the rows read and updated by the application are available to other concurrently executing processes. It also specifies the degree to which updates from other concurrently executing application processes are available to the application.
