  1. [ESRI software] In ArcGIS, a coarse-grained object that represents a geodatabase. It allows software users to perform replication operations, data extraction and database query operations on a geodatabase over the WAN using ArcGIS Server. Application developers can also use the GeoDataServer with geodatabase connections made over the LAN.
