ArcGIS 10.3.1 for Server (Linux) WMS GetCapabilities Patch addresses a crash that occurs when a GetCapabilities request is sent to WMS services. The specific issues resolved by this patch are described in the Introduction section.

Description

EsriĀ® announces the ArcGIS 10.3.1 for Server (Linux) WMS GetCapabilities Patch. that addresses a crash that occurs when a GetCapabilities request is sent to WMS services. When performing a GetCapabilities request on a WMS service, it will return a HTTP 400 error "The request sent by the client was syntactically incorrect." The following severe error is logged with ArcGIS Server and an error report is generated:

"Error handling request to service '.MapServer'. java.io.IOException: Server object extension 'wmsserver' not found."

Installing this patch on Linux

Installation Steps:

Complete the following install steps as the ArcGIS 10.3.1 for Server Install owner. The Install owner is the owner of the arcgis folder.

ArcGIS 10.3.1 for Server must be installed before installing this patch.

  1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS for Server installation location.

    ArcGIS 10.3.1 for Server ArcGIS-1031-S-WMSGC-Patch-lx.tar 7DA45A1570E0CDCD2DB4F5242B9D8E31

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS for Server installation location, and that no one is using ArcGIS for Server.

  3. Extract the specified tar file by typing:

    % tar -xvf ArcGIS-1031-S-WMSGC-Patch-lx.tar

  4. Start the installation by typing:

    % ./applypatch

    This will start the dialog for the menu-driven installation procedure. Default selections are noted in parentheses ( ). To quit the installation procedure, type 'q' at any time.

Uninstalling this patch
