ArcGIS 10.3 for (Desktop / Server) NITF and NCDRD Quality Patch

Summary

This patch addresses several issues when working with standard NITF images as well as NCDRD compliant NITF images. It resolves issues with pyramid generation, performance, default processing templates, and mensuration. The patch also addresses issues that may occur if the NITF images are viewed using an Image Coordinate System. Finally, the patch also addresses an issue with GeoPackages.

Description

EsriĀ® announces the ArcGIS 10.3 for (Desktop / Server) NITF and NCDRD Quality Patch. This patch addresses several issues when working with standard NITF or NCDRD compliant NITF images:

  • Resolves failures when using the "Build Pyramids and Statistics" Geoprocessing tool with certain NITF/NCDRD images
  • Improves the performance of adding certain NITF/NCDRD images to a Mosaic Dataset
  • Improves the performance of opening certain NITF/NCDRD images in ArcMap
  • Resolves a number of problems when working with NITF/NCDRD images in an Image Coordinate System
  • Resolves a number of problems when using the Image Analysis Window tools with NITF/NCDRD images
  • Resolves issues with GeoPackages which were introduced at ArcGIS 10.3


It deals specifically with the issue listed below under Issues Addressed with this patch.

Issues Addressed with this patch

  • BUG-000086345 - The "Build Pyramids And Statistics" gp tool does not work consistently against NITF data.

 

Installing this patch on Windows

Installation Steps:

ArcGIS 10.3 for Desktop or Server must be installed before installing this patch.

  1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.
  3. Double-click ArcGIS-103-<Product>-NNQ-Patch.msp to start the setup process.

    NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:

    msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-103-<Product>-NNQ-Patch.msp

 

Installing this patch on Linux

Installation Steps:

Complete the following install steps as the ArcGIS Install owner. The Install owner is the owner of the arcgis folder.

ArcGIS 10.3 for Server must be installed before installing this patch.

  1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

    ArcGIS for Server ArcGIS-103-S-NNQ-PatchC-lx.tar C635965FD84948F020D04CF2CC7EC2BB

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location, and that no one is using ArcGIS.
  3. Extract the specified tar file by typing:

    % tar -xvf ArcGIS-103-<Product>-NNQ-Patch-lx.tar
  4. Start the installation by typing:

    % ./applypatch

    This will start the dialog for the menu-driven installation procedure. Default selections are noted in parentheses ( ). To quit the installation procedure, type 'q' at any time.

May 18, 2015: "B" versions of the setups have been released to ensure that this patch is recognized by the Patch Notification tool.

June 16, 2015: "C" versions of the setups have been released to ensure that this patch is recognized by the Patch Notification tool.
