Esri Maps for IBM Cognos 6.0.1 Patch 1
Summary
Description
Esri® announces the Esri Maps for IBM Cognos 6.0.1 Patch 1. This patch offers a Silverlight map rendering engine to improve performance in rendering map features and graphics in Internet Explorer. The Silverlight rendering engine is designed to make map performance in Internet Explorer comparable to Chrome and Firefox. The patch also addresses bugs related to legend styling. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch.
Issues Addressed with this patch
- BUG-000085367 – Category groups in legend do not update with dynamic data correctly.
Description: Styles configured for layers are not honored when filters are inserted and removed.
- ENH-000085013 – Style values can't handle all characters.
Description: At run time, the style/measure might have values that contain certain characters (for example, "> 201mm"). The greater-than (>) character is not displayed correctly (comes through as ">"), but the front end needs to be able to handle anything that is returned via the query. - NIM103716 – Internet Explorer 9 exhibits poor performance displaying 1500+ points in map control of an EM4C report.
Description: When configuring (in Esri Map Designer) or running a Cognos report containing a map using Internet Explorer 9, if a Cognos query configured to display points on a map returns more than 1500 points, browser performance is unacceptable and browser will lock up or perform very slowly making the report unusable. When running the same report using FireFox 17.0.8, performance is fine and the problem is not experienced.
