ArcGIS 10.1 SP1 for (Desktop) Geometric Network Reconcile Patch

Summary

This patch addresses an issue that may occur during reconcile of a geometric network where a user encounters the following error: “The version could not be reconciled. Invalid network element id”. This error is encountered after installation of the Service Pack 1 for ArcGIS 10.1. Esri recommends that all sites that have installed Service Pack 1 for ArcGIS 10.1 and have encountered the error install this patch.

Description

Esri® announces the ArcGIS 10.1 SP1 for (Desktop) Geometric Network Reconcile Patch. This patch addresses an issue that may occur during reconcile of a geometric network where a user encounters the following error:

"The version could not be reconciled.
Invalid network element id."

This error is encountered after installation of Service Pack 1 for ArcGIS 10.1. Reconciling the version with ArcGIS 10.1 does not produce the error. Esri recommends that all sites that have installed Service Pack 1 for ArcGIS 10.1 and have encountered the error install this patch. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch.

 

Issues Addressed with this Patch

  • NIM087777 - Reconciling a version may fail with an "Invalid network element id." error after installing Service Pack 1 for ArcGIS 10.1. For more information regarding this issue, please see Technical Article 40827.

Installing this patch on Windows

Installation Notes:

Installation Steps:

ArcGIS 10.1 Service Pack 1 for Desktop, Engine, or Server must be installed before you can install this patch.

  1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.

  3. Double-click ArcGIS-101SP1-DT-GNR-Patch.msp to start the install process.

    NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the patch installation, you can start the patch installation manually by using the following command:

    msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-101SP1-DT-GNR-Patch.msp
