ArcGIS 10 SP2 (Desktop, Server) Fullwidth Unicode Characters and Conversion Patch

This patch adds the ability of handling fullwidth numbers in Unicode. This patch only applies if you need to create locators and geocode international addresses that use Unicode characters and fullwidth numbers.

Esri® announces the ArcGIS 10 SP2 (Desktop, Server) Fullwidth Unicode Characters and Conversion Patch. Arabic numbers are usually presented in halfwidth form. However, some languages also require using fullwidth numbers. This patch provides the support for handling fullwidth numbers in Unicode. This patch only applies if you need to create locators and geocode international addresses that use Unicode characters and fullwidth numbers. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch.

Installing this Patch on Windows

Installation Notes:

ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server GIS Services or ArcGIS Server Java 10 Service Pack 2 must be installed before you can install this patch.

Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

ArcGIS Desktop	Gis10sp2-DT-FWU-Patch.msp

ArcGIS Server GIS Services	Gis10sp2-SGIS-FWU-Patch.msp

ArcGIS Server Java	Gis10sp2-SJ-FWU-Patch.msp

Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.
For ArcGIS Server GIS Services Only: Open the Services Management Console> Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Stop the ArcGIS Server Object Manager and ArcGIS Server SOC Monitor services.

For ArcGIS Server Java Only: Open the Services Management Console> Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Stop the ArcGIS Server Object Manager; ArcGIS Server SOC Monitor and ArcGIS Server Manager services.
Double-click Gis10sp2-<Product>-FWU-Patch.msp to start the install process.

NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the Patch installation, you can start the Patch installation manually by using the following command:
- msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\Gis10sp2-<Product>-FWU-Patch.msp
When Setup starts, follow the instructions on your screen.
For For ArcGIS Server GIS Services Only: Open the Services Management Console> Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Start the ArcGIS Server Object Manager and ArcGIS Server SOC Monitor services.

For ArcGIS Server Java Only: Open the Services Management Console> Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Start the ArcGIS Server Object Manager; ArcGIS Server SOC Monitor and ArcGIS Server Manager services.
