ArcGIS 10.3.1 for (Desktop / Server) Legacy Commercial Satellite NITF Patch

Summary

This patch addresses issues where some legacy commercial satellite imagery in NITF format aren't presented to the user as an ArcGIS Raster Product or aren't recognized as an ArcGIS Raster Type. This enhancement applies to non-ncdrd compliant NITF satellite imagery (e.g. legacy Ikonos, Quickbird, GeoEye-1, WorldView-1, WorldView-2, etc.).

Description

EsriĀ® announces the ArcGIS 10.3.1 for (Desktop / Server) Legacy Commercial Satellite NITF Patch. This patch addresses several issues when working with non-NCDRD compliant commercial satellite NITF images. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this patch.

 

Issues Addressed with this patch

  • BUG-000091783 - This fix addresses issues where some legacy commercial satellite imagery in NITF format aren't presented to the user as an ArcGIS Raster Product or aren't recognized as an ArcGIS Raster Type. This enhancement applies to non-ncdrd compliant NITF commercial satellite imagery (e.g. legacy Ikonos, Quickbird, GeoEye-1, WorldView-1, WorldView-2, etc.).

 

Installing this patch on Windows

Installation Steps:

ArcGIS 10.3.1 for Desktop or Server and the ArcGIS 10.3.1 for (Desktop, Server) Raster Type Patch must be installed before installing this patch.

  1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.
  3. Double-click ArcGIS-1031-<Product>-LCSN-Patch.msp to start the setup process.

    NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the setup installation, you can start the setup installation manually by using the following command:

    msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\ArcGIS-1031-<Product>-LCSN-Patch.msp

 

Installing this patch on Linux

Installation Steps:

Complete the following install steps as the ArcGIS Install owner. The Install owner is the owner of the arcgis folder.

ArcGIS 10.3.1 for Server and the ArcGIS 10.3.1 for (Desktop, Server) Raster Type Patch must be installed before installing this patch.

  1. Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.

  2. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location, and that no one is using ArcGIS.
  3. Extract the specified tar file by typing:

    % tar -xvf ArcGIS-1031-S-LCSN-Patch-lx.tar
  4. Start the installation by typing:

    % ./applypatch

    This will start the dialog for the menu-driven installation procedure. Default selections are noted in parentheses ( ). To quit the installation procedure, type 'q' at any time.

January 22, 2016: Added pre-requisite patch information. The ArcGIS 10.3.1 for (Desktop, Server) Raster Type Patch must be installed prior to installing this patch.
