This patch corrects toolbox help files that were not using the correct Japanese language style in ArcGIS Desktop.

Description

The ArcGIS 10.0 SP3 (Desktop) Japanese Toolbox Help Files Patch has been re-issued. The original patch was not displaying in the Help correctly. If the previous version of this patch was installed, simply install the re-issued patch to correct the issue.

Introduction

Esri® announces the ArcGIS 10.0 SP3 (Desktop) Japanese Toolbox Help Files Patch. This patch corrects help files that were not using the correct Japanese language style. By applying this patch, users will be able to find the correct tool by using the GeoProcessing Index. This patch only applies to users using Japanese ArcGIS 10.0 SP3 Desktop. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch.

Description: Users of Japanese ArcGIS 10.0 Desktop cannot use the GeoProcessing Index to find a tool. In order to correct this, the help files must be replaced with ones that use the correct Japanese language style.

Installing this Patch on Windows

Installation Notes:

Installation Steps:

ArcGIS 10 Service Pack 3 Desktop must be installed before you can install this patch.

Download the appropriate file to a location other than your ArcGIS installation location.
ArcGIS Desktop Gis10sp3-DT-JTHF-Patch-b.msp
Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location.
Double-click Gis10sp3-DT-JTHF-Patch-b.msp to start the install process.

NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the Patch installation, you can start the Patch installation manually by using the following command:

msiexec.exe /p [location of Patch]\Gis10sp3-DT-JTHF-Patch-b.msp
When Setup starts, follow the instructions on your screen. At the end of the installation, follow the instructions to run the GIS Server Post Install.
