ArcReader 8.3

Published: February 19, 2003

Summary

ArcReader is free, easy-to-use software that allows anyone to view, explore, and print published map files (PMFs).

Description

ArcReader was designed for viewing and sharing maps that access a wide variety of dynamic geographic data.

The goal of ArcReader is to provide significantly increased access to maps throughout all parts of an organization. Anyone with ArcReader can now access high-quality maps created by ArcGIS Desktop.

ArcReader 8.3 requires Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6a (or) Windows 2000 (or) Windows XP (Home Edition and Professional).

Notes

  • Installation starts by immediately downloading a 220 KB Smart Install in order to analyze and determine what other pieces of software to download.
  • Depending on what you already have installed on your computer, the install may be a minimum of 61.8 MB or a maximum of 122 MB for a full install.
  • If you do not have the resources to download a minimum of 62 MB, then you might want to consider ordering the ArcReader Stand-Alone CD from the ArcReader order page.
  • You cannot install the ArcReader 8.3 Stand-Alone version on the same computer with any other version of ArcGIS. You can, however, install ArcReader 8.3 from the ArcGIS 8.3 setup.
