ESRI® announces the ArcGIS 9.3.1 (Engine, Server, SDK) General Update Patch for Linux and Solaris. This patch provides the ability to update the path to data for msd files and improves the stability of (ArcGIS Engine, ArcGIS Server, SDK) under heavy load on machines with many CPUs. This patch is recommended for 9.3.1 customers who are using optimized map services and for ArcGIS (Engine, Server, SDK) in production environments. This patch replaces the "ArcGIS 9.3.1 (Server, Engine, SDK) MXD Path Editor Patch" for Linux and Solaris only. It deals specifically with the issues listed below under Issues Addressed with this Patch.
(NOTE: There is NOT a version of this patch for Microsoft Windows as the issues addressed are platform specific for Linux and Solaris.)
- NIM045974 - ArcGIS Server is unresponsive after a period of high volume requests.
- NIM045975 - Unix/Linux: ArcGIS Server 93 SP1 -exporting a map service to PDF format. The highway shield label text is not centered. shift a little bit.
Since this Patch replaces 9.3.1 files, you must have ArcGIS 9.3.1 installed before you can install this Patch. For the same reason, you shouldn't install it while anyone is using ArcGIS.
