ArcGIS Business Analyst Server for the Microsoft .NET Framework 9.3 Service Pack 1

This Service Pack contains performance improvements and maintenance fixes. Please download and install this required Service Pack at your earliest convenience.

In addition to resolving issues, this Service Pack includes the following features:

• Adds a new "Point in Polygon" report
• Adds support for Excel 2007 files
• Adds enhancements to Summary Reports
• Supports Custom Task in non secured Analysis Center
• Adds execution improvements in Reports
• Adds REST and SOAP API updates
• Adds improvements to the Web applications 
• Business Analyst Tools (Analysis Center)
• Business Analyst Server Workflows (Analysis Center)

Important Notes:
Before applying this Service Pack please make sure you have:

• ArcGIS Desktop 9.3 Service Pack 1
• ArcGIS Server for the Microsoft .NET Framework 9.3 Service Pack 1

If you have ArcGIS Business Analyst 9.3 (Desktop) installed on the same computer as ArcGIS Business Analyst Server 9.3 then please make sure you have:

ArcGIS Business Analyst 9.3 (Desktop) Service Pack 2

Please make a note of any custom changes to the Web applications configuration and settings files before applying the Service Pack. The Service Pack will reset the Analysis Center and XSLT Report Web Service configuration and settings files. Upon completion of the Service Pack you will need to redo the custom changes to the configuration and settings files if you want customized settings.

To install the Downloaded Service Pack:
ArcGIS Business Analyst Server 9.3 must be installed before you can install this Service Pack. It is strongly recommended that you back up your data before upgrading your installation. After the Service Pack is applied you will need to redo any customizations. Install this Service Pack using an administrative account. To install the BASDatasp1.msp use the same administrative user account that was used to perform ArcGIS Business Analyst Server Data - 2008 Setup. To find out what products are currently installed on your machine, download the ServicePackFinder931.exe utility in this zipped file and run it from your local machine. This utility provides a report detailing the ArcGIS products that are currently installed on your machine. The report also details which service packs have been installed. The report is displayed when the utility is run and a servicepack.txt log file is created in your temp folder.

Important Note on ArcGIS Business Analyst Server Post Installs:
If the ArcGIS Business Analyst Server Post Install does not launch automatically after the Service Pack has been applied please be sure to launch the ArcGIS Business Analyst Server Post Install and ArcGIS Business Analyst Server Web Applications Post Install manually from the shortcuts in your Start menu. The Post Installs may prompt you to restart your computer, if so, you may choose to restart later after the post installation process is complete. You need to run the ArcGIS Business Analyst Server Web Applications Post Install after the Post Install. The Web Applications Post Install will prompt for the ArcGIS Server agsadmin user account and associated password (typically ArcGISWebServices). To avoid disrupting the installation you will need to use the same user account and password that you used when you initially installed ArcGIS Business Analyst Server 9.3 (or the last time you ran the Web Applications Post Install).

Installation Steps:
ArcGIS Business Analyst Server 9.3 must be installed before you can install this Service Pack.

Note: ArcGIS Business Analyst Server 9.3 contains:

1. ArcGIS Business Analyst Server Data - 2008 Setup
2. ArcGIS Business Analyst Server for the Microsoft .NET Framework 9.3 Setup

Make sure you ran these Setups to install ArcGIS Business Analyst Server 9.3.

To Install this Service Pack:

1. Make sure you have write access to your ArcGIS installation location, and that no one is accessing it.
2. Download the appropriate files to a location other than the installation folder:
   • ArcGIS Business Analyst Server Data - 2008 MSP - BASDatasp1.msp - 126 KB
     Note: This MSP file needs to be run using the same adminisrative user account that performed ArcGIS Business Analyst Server Data - 2008 Setup
   • ArcGIS Business Analyst Server for the Microsoft .NET Framework 9.3 MSP - BAServer93sp1.msp - 8 MB
3. Double-click the msp files in the same order as above to start the install process.
   NOTE: If double clicking on the MSP file does not start the Service Pack installation, you can start the Service Pack installation manually by using the following command:
   Msiexec.exe /p [location of service pack]\(filename)sp1.msp
4. When the Setup starts, follow the instructions on your screen.
