  1. [analysis/geoprocessing] The location or group of locations used as the starting point for distance analysis. Media/source.gif
  2. [network analysis] A junction feature that pushes flow away from itself through the edges of a geometric network. For example, in a water distribution network, pump stations can be modeled as sources, since they drive the water through the pipes away from the pump stations.
