Workaround

"For example: Assuming the end user owns this web server, the end user could configure it so that it defaults to the wildcard certificate that represents https://arcgis-maps.customer instead of somepublicurl.com. This should just be a matter or re-ordering the virtual hosts in the customer’s httpd.conf file so that the site that uses the wildcard certificate is listed first. If the end user does that, then any client that does not support SNI – like our proxies and checkUrl resources – will hit the site with the wildcard certificate and will work."
